The castle mode also looks interesting, though. I wanted to see Naomasa in the main SW4 to see him in Chronic mode. And he still taught Kai a lesson he deserved. She is a warrior and needs to end up as one. No more dancing monkeys as she mourns her father's death.Īnd finally they gave a proper ending for her at the end of the Osaka Campaign, rather than apparently a "concubine" for Ieyasu. ("Go to Osaka" is not engaging anyone, Omega)īut in SW4, not only how Hayakawa is allowed to stay in Kanto (all stayed in their respective territories, so why not Hayakawa?) And while Kai is the only one who gets exasperated, Hayakawa has to explain the rules of the situation with dignity intact. I never liked the forced renegotiation shortly after "the defeated must obey the winners" with the implication that Hideyoshi wanted Hayakawa as "concubine". They also made small edits to get more accurate, like Ujiyasu dying before the Siege of Odawara (though only in the Hojo clan's point of view for some reason). might have missed somethingĮxcept that they removed the chronic mode, the game seems to be much better and fair to the new characters. The floors obviously get progressively harder, and the rewards get better the higher you go. SW4-II has Survival Mode, a giant castle with like 100+ floors where you basically just clear each floor's challenge before moving on to the next one. Depending on who you form the strongest bond(s) with will add to your own biography that you unlock at the end. SW4 has Chronicle Mode, which follows your CAW around Japan, making a biography of the era, meeting all playable characters and forming bonds with them, unlocking their weapons for your CAW, etc.
The items are abandoned in favor of skills, which you unlock by finding Tomes (via defeated officers, base captains, etc.). The games play pretty similarly, SW4-II making some subtle changes to the gameplay to make things slightly more difficult. However, some people are left completely out (Takeda). Some of the smaller clans that got shafted in SW4 (like Date) have their own story with 5 stages. It chooses to focus on specific characters and their stories, rather than presenting an overall narrative.
SW4-II is an alternate version of SW4, it does NOT contain everything from SW4. Some of the smaller clans get less screentime (the Date, for example) but the overall story is more cohesive. SW4 has the more comprehensive story mode of the bunch, covering most major events with a clan-based focus. So SW4-2 is basically the Complete Edition, including everything from Vanilla? Kinda unbelievable, but that's what i'm understanding.SW4-II is NOT the complete edition. After some research in the net, i think i've found the answer myself.
